THE IGNORANCE YOU FAIL TO REALIZE EACH TIME YOU LABEL A PERSON

Image
“You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant.” ~ Harlan Ellison As humans, we’re often defensive or even scared of things we don’t understand, know little - nothing about, or things we will never understand because we aren’t affected by them directly nor indirectly. The only way out is to unlearn our prejudices and learn to be accepting of others if we truly care about ourselves and want to get the best out of others. Labeling others can make us feel more superior, but that’s not a good habit to get into. In utmost simplicity, the term " LABELING " means to incompletely describe someone or something by using a word or a short phrase to highlight one particular trait of that person over their other traits. For example, describing a person as "toxic" and negating other positive truths about them.  Researchers began to study the cognitive effects of "labeling" in t

It is better to be out of your mind if it has always been in a NEGATIVE state, let go, close your eyes, breathe and dive into a world of beautiful possibilities. The world isn't against you, but rather, your thoughts, experiences and beliefs are against you - remember, how you choose to live your life is your business, live it WELL.  The HOLY SPIRIT is contemporary.  Be the light and the salt it's more rewarding. ❤️

PAUSE! THE SITUATION ISN'T THE PROBLEM, YOUR PERCEPTION IS

We don't see things as they are. We see them as we are. ~ Anais Nin _____ The word perception comes from the Latin "perception-, percepio ," meaning "receiving, collecting, action of taking possession, apprehension" with the mind or senses. In contemporary psychology, perception is the brain’s interpretation of sensory information so as to give meaning to it. In the field of psychology, the Implicit Personality Theory acknowledges the patterns we use in forming impressions about other people, despite having minute information about them. According to Aronson et al, 2010; social perception refers to the ability to make accurate interpretations and inferences about other people from their general physical appearance, verbal, and nonverbal patterns of communication. However certain factors come into play to shape or even distort perception, which domicile in: In the perceiver; these include the perceiver's Att

My Life's Journey Is My Destination - - and the most beautiful truth I've come to realize is that the imperfections & setbacks of life are scenes and characterizations which all help to create this beautiful story called REALITY - - Always find yourself, no matter how often you get lost in the distractions of this #DREAM called life -- Hmm, but What if LIFE in the here and now was just a simulation to prepare us for something more substantial? 💭 and DEATH was our only exit out and entrance back in to our true infinite spirit nature.

WHY ACTION WILL ALWAYS WORK MAGIC

Faith Without Works Is Dead  ((James 2:14-26)) - - Inspirational Quotes Won't Get You There, Action Does. ~ Dan Lok In a nutshell, of course inspirational quotes and motivation speech give you the pump you need to fire your engine (mind); but the fact is, you still need good old fashioned discipline for self-drive (taking the required action) to actually get you from start point A to destination Z.  Therefore I encourage you today not just to feel inspired/motivated, but to actually take that leap of faith by eating the ugly frog (doing the necessary work) TODAY.... No Procrastination 🚫

WHY YOUR BODY SIZE DOES NOT DEFINE YOUR WORTH

Image
Ellen Degeneres once said "To me, beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. It's about knowing and accepting who you are" and I totally agree with her. Sadly, over the years I have  come in close contact with people (friends & acquaintances, women & men, adults & children, straight & gay, single & married alike) who don't feel secure in their own bodies. Some of these beautiful individuals either feel unattractive, uncomfortable in their own bodies, ashamed or just wish they had someone else's body. Based on talks and studies, I realized that these insecure feelings were majorly as a result of the  physique junk being dished by mainstream media, and body shaming from close friends, family and relevant others they've had to be in close contact with. Nonetheless, the fact still remains that you are perfect; so stop wishing you looked like someone else, wishing people liked you as much as they like someone else, hating y

DO THESE 6 THINGS AND PEOPLE WILL START LIKING YOU MORE

Researchers often say that the formula to making a great first impression include: smiling , making eye contact, being engaging and agreeable. Sadly, first impressions lose their impact, especially when there's no substance beneath the surface glow. Hence, becoming a person who is genuinely likable over the long haul becomes harder because maintaining great relationships, consistently influencing others positively and making people feel better about themselves; are things quite a lot of people don't get too well. But you actually can, because being a likable person has nothing to do with your level of achievement, eloquence, fashion taste, nor the image you project; but rather, in what you do for others. STUDIES REVEAL THAT LIKABLE PEOPLE EXERCISE THE FOLLOWING IN A SINCERE AND AUTHENTIC MANNER TOWARDS OTHER PEOPLE: They shift the spotlight to others with generous "praise" for things they do well, which in turn makes them feel a little more accomplished an

Thoughts don't cancel out thoughts, but contrary actions/affirmations can.  No matter what it is you're struggling with, you are not alone and you can heal. Ignorance is a silent killer.  Never settle for less, you are not cheap.  Do what you find doing with all the positive energy in you.  Don't hold on too tight to what you need to let go off, and move on fast afterwards.

1. ON RISK TAKING: Keeping your life cheap and flexible for as long as you can is a powerful way to master the art of risk taking. When people get used to a comfortable life, a predictable job, and a reputation of succeeding at whatever they do, it gets very hard to leave that behind (and people have an incredible ability to always match their lifestyle to next year’s salary). Even if they do leave, the temptation to return is great. It’s easy—and human nature—to prioritize short-term gain and convenience over long-term fulfillment.  It’s often easier to take risks early in your career; you don’t have much to lose, and you potentially have a lot to gain. Once you’ve gotten yourself to a point where you have your basic obligations covered you should try to make it easy to take risks. Look for small bets you can make where you lose 1x if you’re wrong but make 100x if it works. Then make a bigger bet in that direction. 2. ON FOCUS: It is much more important to work on the righ

HOW TO STAY RELAXED & STILL BE PRODUCTIVE

Image
Way too much emphasis have been placed over the years on productivity, hyper-efficiency, and making the most productive use of every last minute; to the point that people work longer hours, constantly check their emails, and are often focused on "Getting More Done." But to what end? Is it to produce more in order to make more money for corporations? Or could it be to make more money for ourselves at the expense of our personal health? Or just to hold on to our jobs (jobs we might not like anyway) just to appear relevant ? On the flip side though, It’s actually possible we’re trying to get more done because we love doing it — and if that’s the case, that’s wonderful. But even then, working long hours and neglecting the rest of life isn’t always the best idea. Sometimes it’s healthy to "Get Less Done," to relax, to breathe.  Sadly, people have forgotten how to relax, how to let go and just enjoy life. Some Tips : Take some time daily to go outside for a wa

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 New King James Version (NKJV) The Thorn in the Flesh & God's Sufficient Grace  7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to [a]buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  God's Grace Is Ever Sufficient For You, No Matter The Pain or Circumstance. FACEBOOK

THE 7 LIFE CHANGING BENEFITS OF EMBRACING LITERATURE

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” ~ The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho Reality television, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook have taken all our time away from where our hearts once begged to be – in the middle of an incredible story. In the good old days, we fervently turned each page while missing breakfast, lunch, and sometimes even dinner just to see what would happen next. We forgot in a haste, the special memories that come from reading literary fiction, viewing a play with an open mind for inspiration and listening to the soul soothing works of poetry. We forgot so soon, when we stayed in bed on a beautiful day just to finish a book, went late to class because of a chapter that just had to be finished, and the moments we escaped from our unsettling moods to jump into an unexpected journey. The good news however is, those beautiful stories and lessons that lie
