DO THESE 6 THINGS AND PEOPLE WILL START LIKING YOU MORE

Researchers often say that the formula to making a great first impression include: smiling , making eye contact, being engaging and agreeable. Sadly, first impressions lose their impact, especially when there's no substance beneath the surface glow. Hence, becoming a person who is genuinely likable over the long haul becomes harder because maintaining great relationships, consistently influencing others positively and making people feel better about themselves; are things quite a lot of people don't get too well.

But you actually can, because being a likable person has nothing to do with your level of achievement, eloquence, fashion taste, nor the image you project; but rather, in what you do for others.

STUDIES REVEAL THAT LIKABLE PEOPLE EXERCISE THE FOLLOWING IN A SINCERE AND AUTHENTIC MANNER TOWARDS OTHER PEOPLE:

  • They shift the spotlight to others with generous "praise" for things they do well, which in turn makes them feel a little more accomplished and a lot more important, and they'll love you for making them feel that way.
  • They are active and ready listeners who respond not just verbally, but mostly non-verbally. They offer advice on request and only speak when there's something to say which matters to the others.
  • They give before they receive or think about what they can provide instead of what they can get because they know "giving" is the only way to establish real lasting connections.
  • They never practice selective-hearing, which involves disregarding anything said by someone they feel is somehow beneath them in status, rank, age or simply due to other socio-economic factors.
  • They are thoughtful (go the extra mile) and do special things for others during idle time.  Rather than turn idle time into "me time," likable people use their free time to do something nice -- not because they're expected to, but just because they can.
  • They choose their words and voice tones wisely, because they are aware of the power and impact words can have on the attitude of others.
